Research Ethics BC (REBC)* has contracted an external consultant to evaluate the harmonized research ethics review models being used in BC. If you have submitted a multi-jurisdictional study for ethics review in BC, they would like to hear from you. 

The survey will take between 15-30 minutes to complete. 

Completion is requested by Saturday September 17th.

The Sustainability Hub is proud to announce the return of the Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) Competition for 22-23.

This year, the CLL Fund Competition will provide seed funding of up to $50,000 for 4 to 6 innovative projects in one of four priority areas. Plus, a new partnership with UBC Wellbeing will provide up to $50,000 for 1 additional project that advances one of the identified target areas in the UBC Wellbeing Strategic Framework including mental health; food security; active...

As part of CIHR’s ongoing security enhancements to ResearchNet, a multifactor authentication process will need to be implemented. This process would require ResearchNet users to enter a code at time of login that would be sent to the email address connected to their account profile to authenticate their identity. CIHR would like to to hear from the research community about about how this change will impact their use of ResearchNet.

In support of the NSERC Discovery Grant competition, SPARC staff will host regular office hours through Zoom, every Tuesday and Thursday (starting August 24), until the end of the competition. UBC researchers are leading 47 projects awarded a total of $38.3 million through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grants: Spring 2022 competition. 

In total, the Project Grants: Spring 2022 competition approved 405 research grants, plus 2 bridge grants, for a total investment of approximately $325M. In addition, 61 priority announcement grants were funded for a total amount of $10,779,207 and 16 supplemental prizes were awarded for a total of $1,060,000

UBC Electrical and Computer Engineering associate professor will receive up to US $2.5 Million for interdisciplinary research support.

SPARC is pleased to present a new online resource for the NSERC Alliance grants competition. This guide will assist UBC applicants in understanding partnership requirements, determine partner eligibility and NSERC cost-sharing with budgeting examples, and provides strategic advice on completing the proposal template sections.

The ACS Animal Welfare Committee - comprised of Animal Care Services staff and veterinarians – aims to further improve the welfare of animals under our care. The Committee is actively seeking opportunities for increased application of the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement).
