This is an upcoming workshop that will be of interest to Digital Humanities. The UBC Library Research Commons has partnered with UBC's R/Mozilla Study Group to offer this 2-day Software Carpentry workshop on Python, May 17 - 18.

This online workshop is targeted at current WestGrid account holders and focuses on getting the most out of a cluster using a scheduler. Split into three-parts, each two-hour session will provide hands-on training and offer users a chance to experiment with job submission techniques.

Earlier this year, Compute Canada launched a cloud development environment that will enable researchers to customize virtual machines to meet unique needs, avoid job queues, and have the ability to work interactively.

VPRI Unit: Research Ethics

A joint certificate of approval has been launched in RISe for ethics applications that are harmonized under the BC Ethics Harmonization Initiative. Partners in the harmonization initiative are: Fraser Health, Interior Health, Island Health, Northern Health, Simon Fraser University, the University of Northern BC, University of Victoria and all UBC-affiliated REBs.

New certificates will now display each of the reviewing REBs and will show which REB acted as the Board of Record.
