Getting Started with Bioinformatics on Linux (in-person)
Routine bioinformatics analysis is typically conducted on the command line of a UNIX-based computing platform (ie. Linux, Mac OS-X), using a number of scripting languages (Bash, Python, R). This workshop will provide a practical, hands-on introduction to the Linux command line, specifically the bash shell. You will learn how to navigate around the command line interface, create and manipulate files, and learn how to write your own basic scripts for future success in your bioinformatics-related analyses.
